Really, really bizarre

A poem that appeared in Pakistani children’s english class books had a weird stanza. All the lines’ first letters spelled out “President George W Bush”. We’ll probably never hear exactly how that poem ended up there, but it sure would be interesting…

Talk about screwed ;-)

Glöggdags

Det här receptet skall jag prova om jag får tid – låter gott och det är alltid rolig(are) att göra egen glögg :-)

Ingredienser:

2 kanelstänger, brutna i delar
1 tesked kardemummakärnor
1 bit skalad ingefära
Rivet skal från en halv apelsin
6 (hela) kryddnejlikor
1¼ dl vodka
750 ml (1 flaska) torrt rött vin
2½ dl portvin eller Madeira
2¼ dl socker
1 matsked vaniljsocker
2¼ dl skållade, hela mandlar
1,5 dl russin

why do conservatives deny global warming?

A US post, and to some extent valid mostly in the US. However, whenever I meet “denialists” elsewhere, they tend to be die-hard conservatives (ergo, there must be something to it, right?)

Very cool looking – but it must be a pain to ride, right? Those wheels are so tiny… imagine trying to get up a curb. Oh well, pure eye candy in any case :-D MAS design – x-bike [via Boing-Boing]

This is the point most DRM opponents are trying to make. Case in point – Major League Baseball.

Bruce Schneier almost always have smart things to say and this essay is no exception. As a european, I can’t fail to notice the exact same pattern here. There’s hardly a day that passes by without at least one story about suspicious content that brought out the whole shebang of police equipment extraordinaire.

The first part of a howto for setting up FreeRADIUS to increase the security of your home network. I really like the site SmallNetBuilder (not the least because they cover the NAS market far better than anyone else) & I really should work on securing my wireless a lot more…

Architecture & agility

Agility is “hot” these days (or well, have been hot for the last 2-3 years, but are really only now picking up steam – at least among those companies I frequent), and in the wealth of articles, people, conferences etc. lauding the agile approach this article is a welcome piece of reality check.

At least for me. This is my thinking in a nutshell. Canned Architecture

Americans never fail to amaze (not to say that there’s not plenty of Americans – the tens of millions of them – that aren’t from another planet) me… Check these (rather old but most likely still valid to a large extent) stats out.
